Local Libertarian Convention February 19th at Incredible Mo’s in Grawn
The Northwest Michigan Libertarian Party (NWMLP) will hold its winter convention at 6:30 on Wednesday, February 19th at Incredible Mo’s, 1355 Silver Lake Crossings Blvd. in Grawn.
All local freedom lovers are welcome to attend, as we need new members for this important election year!
Incredible Mo’s is offering us the room at no charge, but they ask that meeting attendees order food and/or drinks.
This local convention is very important as we will be electing officers, discussing changes to our bylaws, and choosing delegates to represent us at the March 14th state convention in Grand Rapids.
Officer elections plan to be exciting. Chairperson Donna Gundle-Krieg is stepping down in the hopes of being elected Political Director, as 2020 is a very important election year for local Libertarians. This is our first election as an official affiliate, and we hope to help local candidates get elected!
Member Peter Biskupski has volunteered to run for Chairperson. Several others have indicated interest in being officers, as we still need a Vice-Chair, a Secretary, and at Large Officers.
As far as selecting members to represent our area at the state convention, NWMLP has the privilege of selecting up to seven delegates. At the state convention, delegates will be selected to attend the national convention, where the Libertarian Presidenital canididate will be selected. This convention will be held in Austin starting May 21st.
All delegates/alternates must be dues-paying members of the Libertarian Party of Michigan. People who have never been a Libertarian Party of Michigan member must join the LPM 30 days prior to the convention, by 11:59 pm on February 13, 2020 to be eligible to vote.
Past LPM members whose memberships have lapsed or current national members, may pay $25 to renew their LPM membership as late as convention day. You may join or renew at this link.
