Libertarian Holmer has great chance to win Manistee County Commissioner race
Veteran and Author David Holmer has a great chance of success as he campaigns as a Libertarian for the Manistee County Commissioner race. There is no Republican running for this office, and the incumbent is a Democrat.
Holmer’s passion for the position is evident, as he is all over the county, meeting voters at their homes and at county events. He has also been interviewed on the radio.
Unlike his opponent, Holmer has taken a stance for gun rights. He has also advocated for local library issues in an article entitled “Empty Shelves Concern Manistee Library Commissioner.”
Holmer feels that his priority as Commissioner would be to make himself available and take the time to really listen to the people he is representing. “I want to give a voice to the people who I represent,” he stated.
For example, Holmer would like to eliminate the time limits on public comments at public board meetings. “This is their time to speak, and they should not be silenced,” he believes.
“I will commit myself to answering any and all questions possible during public comments. I will not just sit there and ignore the people that I am supposed to be representing. It will be both a privilege and an honor to be their public servant!”
Fun fact: as an actor, David Holmer will be appearing as Schroeder in the upcoming play by the Civic Players, “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown.”
