Northwest Michigan residents: Have you ever considered running in the November 3rd election as a Libertarian candidate?
Libertarian candidates for partisan county, township and village positions will be selected by the Northwest Michigan Libertarians at the June 17th convention at 6:30 at JK Whispers in Buckley, Michigan.
New members are welcome at the June 17th convention. Those in attendance in Grawn will also select local delegates to represent our area at the statewide convention at the Treetops Resort in Gaylord on July 18th
In Gaylord, the Michigan Libertarian Party of Michigan delegates will choose federal and state candidates, including US Senator, US House of Representatives, Michigan House of Representatives, and Justices of the Supreme Court. In addition, candidates will be selected for the State Board of Education, Michigan StateUniversity Board of Trustees, University of Michigan Board of Regents, Wayne State University Board of Governors, and Presidential Electors. Local candidates can also be nominated at the state convention.
At both conventions, the party will assist selected candidates with paperwork, including affidavit of identity, and certificate of acceptance. The affidavit of identity must be notarized. Libertarian Party officials will accompany this paperwork with a certificate of nomination. All of this paperwork needs to be delivered to each County Clerk by Monday, July 20th.
All Candidates must file a statement of organization within 20 days of receiving the Libertarian nomination, or receiving or spending any money for a campaign. State candidates should file that form here. All others should use this form and send it to their County Clerk. A list of Northwest Michigan County Clerks is below.
If your campaign spends less than $1,000, you do not need to file campaign finance paperwork.
